Take any of the roads which meander down to the sea-front in Villajoyosa and before long you will come across the brightly coloured fishermen’s houses. According to local historians, the houses were traditionally painted in bright colours to enable the fishermen to recognise their houses whilst out at sea.

Another of Bonalba’s features is, of course, the golf course. If you are coming to Bonalba for a golfing holiday then you won’t be disappointed. The course is suitable for players of all levels; green and fairways are wide and due to a large number of bunkers players will get to use all the clubs in their bag! The first nine holes are quite distinct from the last nine holes and the course contains a number of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers to challenge both amateurs and professionals.

Why Choose Bonalba For A Family Holiday?

In addition to excellent golf facilities, Bonalba is also a superb location for a family holiday.

Bonalba has a large tropical water park & spa adjacent to the club house and restaurant where families can relax around a large tropical pool with separate children’s pool and waterslide. There is also a small gymnasium, children’s crèche, hairdressing salon & beauty treatment rooms.

All holiday accommodation on Bonalba has access to a communal or private pool and many urbanisations also have a children’s play area. All the bars and restaurants on Bonalba welcome families and this is typical of all restaurants in Spain so you don’t have to worry about taking your children out to eat with you.

The long sandy beaches of El Campello and San Juan are just a short drive away by car and there are plenty of bars and restaurants where you can purchase drinks and snacks or enjoy a leisurely lunch. Outside most restaurants you will see a sign which says ‘Menu Del Dia’ and this is a three or four course meal for a set price (usually under 10 euros) and includes a drink, bread and a dessert in addition to your starter and main meal.

Bonalba itself has a Lawn Bowling Club where many ex-pats meet to enjoy and afternoon bowling in the sunshine. They also regularly compete in competitions and organise social events. Medical facilities in Spain are excellent; however, there is also an English speaking doctor in the nearby town of El Campello and an English speaking dentist in Bonalba should people feel more comfortable communicating in their own language.
